There is a solution to a major problem regarding external fuel tanks and the environmental impact being caused by fuel spills. When the connectors are engaged and during the disengaged portion of refilling the fuel tanks, small amounts of fuel are spilled which run down the sides of the tanks and on to the ground. There has been a solution for this problem, but has not been implemented fully like it should be. The solution is a “Spill Containment Bowl” to catch the spilled fuel and allow it to return into the tank without dropping on the ground. This also is very clean looking which does not cause alarm to the environmentalist.
